I need to go back during the adult-only hours and give it another shot. But we paid a stupid amount of money to go into a vastly overcrowded space hemorrhaging children. We couldn’t enjoy ourselves at all. I climbed around one little interior section, but my husband was too nervous to go anywhere due to the amount of children there.
Plus, there was an additional cost to go onto the roof—but it was closed that day due to weather.
There was a small ACTUAL museum exhibit in there on Chicago school architecture that included buildings from Indiana and it was the only sane, quiet place in the whole area.
I just wanted to Fair Warning people that if large groups—especially those with small children—freak you out, seek this place out on adult-only hours or maybe call and ask what their slow times/days are.
"When I was 19, my girlfriend and I were going to study in Paris. Our boyfriends came to the docks to see us off. Right as we were getting on the ship, my friend’s boyfriend said to her: ‘If you go, I won’t wait for you.’ So she turned around and decided to stay. My fiance saw this and told me: ‘I won’t wait for you either.’ I said: ‘Don’t!’”
